Eeeee!!!! – Twisted Princesses

I have a dark side to me that simply dances with absolute glee when it sees stuff like this.

You likey? Here are more. Click on the pictures on that site for a bigger, more detailed look. Alice is now my wallpaper—-which is kind of a stupid thing because it scares the living bejesus out of me every time I minimize a window. But it’s too awesome to ignore. Anyways, enjoy! ‘Cause I sure did.

Whoa…seriously

Daaaamn!!! Who would’ve thought that one freaking room (mine) could have so many STUFF crammed into it?

Thank God my mom was in charge of the clean-up because if I’d just done it myself I’d have given up halfway through and just slept on the huge pile of clothes (as I’m known to do, hehe. It’s actually VERY comfortable).

But we got a lot done.  WOOHOO!!! I got rid of tons of clothes that I don’t wear anymore. I also re-discovered clothes that I completely forgot I had, hehe. I also gave Madi back the stuff I’d borrowed from her, which gave me more room in my closet, woot! I also finally tried on my prom dress from 2003 that my mom’s been wanting to see if it still fit properly. It does :) It’s a very nice dress, it doesn’t even have a zipper in the back, you just slip it on. I might wear it sometime and take a picture. (One of the few you’ll probably ever see of me in a dress, mwahahahaha!)

Hehe, it was like I was in a dressing room or something, I kept putting on and taking off shirts, sweatpants, jeans…all this stuff that I had to try out to see if they still fit or if they should be thrown/given away. We stocked a whole suitcase of clothes that we plan on shipping off to Lebanon for whoever wants them. Another suitcase was stuffed with winter clothes that you’d be absolutely insane to wear in Doha summer weather. (Insane or suicidal, take your pick).

So, that was pretty productive…I’ve been wanting to “renovate” my room, so to speak, for a while now. Moreover, LANA’S COMING ON THE ELEVENTH!!! which is why the whole clean-up was done. I still got more stuff to do in but it shouldn’t take too long  hopefully, hehe. Just blast some music and off we go!

:-D

News Made of Awesomeness

Lana, my super-awesome older sister whom I haven’t seen since August 18, 2008 will be arriving on Qatari soil in EIGHT DAYS!!!!!

CAN’T!!! WAIT!!!!

‘Tayshons is Never More

My dad is awesome.

There are countless reasons—-but the one I’m going to share right now involves the fact he saved a HUGE load of information I had stored on my hard drive.

See, I was prompted by my computer to format my hard drive. In order to do that, I had to transfer the over 100 GB of stuff from there to another hard drive. This was actually my first hard drive, but the USB cable was permanently connected and it frayed up, so I bought another blue one and put all my info on that one instead. Dad took my old one and it was put into a new case and everything, with a detachable USB, and now looks kind of awesome. But I still had my blue one and I liked it just fine, so my dad would keep my old one.

So, after the format, I cut and pasted all the information from the old hard drive back to my blue one. And everything seemed to be hunky dory.

Except it stopped working. The very next day, my not-even-a-year-old yet hard drive just. Stopped. Working. And I don’t have the info on it backed up anywhere else! And I have over 1,000 songs on it too! Taking a deep breath, I  gave it to my dad and asked if any of the geniuses in his IT department could recover any of the information. I didn’t care if the hard drive wouldn’t work anymore, as long as I didn’t lose everything on it.

Dad came back yesterday—-two days after he had taken it to the office—-and said he had good news and bad news. I asked for the bad news first.

Bad News: My hard drive passed away, taking with it EVERYTHING that I had on it. My dad had given his IT people an express order that they HAD to recover the info, no matter what it took. But they couldn’t, it was impossible. I was asked if I dropped my hard drive at any time and I could swear that I never did. But whatever data I had on it was gone. And my hard drive no longer works.

Good News: My dad is awesome x infinity. He remembered that I had used his hard drive to put my stuff on while formatting my own. He mentioned that to his IT people and they brought out a nifty little software that recovers cut/deleted items.

My information’s been saved thanks to the miracle of modern technology! And my dad’s super amazing, sharp, quick thinking.

WOOT!!!!!!!

Tararam – Mahmoud El Eseelly

This is the friggin’ cutest song I’ve heard in a while! I wish I could find the English translation of it, but Google isn’t being too big of a help right now. Still, it’s super catchy. Enjoy!

The FIFTH of JULY 2008

HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY LANA!!!!!!

May 30!

I would also like to talk about my family birthday celebration, which deserves its own separate post.

I had it the day before my birthday, as the title of the post suggests. I went out to dinner at the Diplomatic Club with my awesome family and it was pretty cool. I had already gotten most of my gifts early on in May, especially because they were mostly things I needed. I got a cool pink watch, a wallet, a 250 GB Merlin external hard drive and an FM transmitter for my iPod. (I got the transmitter on my birthday itself, courtesy of Lana. It’s literally the only gift from the family I got on that day. The rest were in my possession quite early on. Hehehehee…)

My parents even arranged for the restaurant to get me a cake, and they played Happy Birthday on the speakers and put this freaking huge black forest cake in front of me. I was already stuffed from my meal so it was tough to down some of it, but it was really awesome. It was a quiet celebration, which I enjoy more than the crazy party stuff, and I got to have one of each kind that weekend.

YAY BIRTHDAYS! Thanks Mom, Dad, Lana and Madi for making both unforgettable. :-D The cake you made me was FREAKING AWESOME! Thank you!!!!!!

Merlin says ‘Tayshons!

I got a new 250 GB hard drive! Thanks Dad!

I’m now putting all the movies and crap that I have clogging my computer on it.

And I’m also getting iTunes to update its music from it instead of the music on my computer itself.

It’s taking time, but I’m almost done.

Yay for external hard drives!

TOSHIBA!!

I got a new laptop a couple of days ago.

You can imagine how ecstatic I am. WOOT!!!

It’s awesome. It’s a Toshiba…um…something-or-other. I had memorized the model when I got it but it seems to have slipped my mind. I know it’s written on the box that it came in, but I’m writing this from school and the box is not with me. So…I’ll let you know when I’m re-reminded, haha.

It’s got really nice features though–a built-in webcam and microphone, Windows Vista Home Premium, and God knows how many gigabytes of space. (Over a hundred…either 160-180 GB.) I had Adobe Acrobat reader/writer installed as well as PhotoShop, MS Office and lots of other stuff.

(Sorry for the brief description, I really ought to be bursting with information but I can’t be bothered right now…it’s not flowing properly to my head…plus I have people talking all around me and it’s hard to concentrate. Suffice to say I’m HAPPY about my new laptop. Woot!)
