Things I’m Currently Addicted To:

1-) Playing Pacman on my iGoogle page. Such a simplistic game, but I can never ever play only one game of it at a time. Ever. It’s such a drainer of time. I managed to get to Level 6 but never anything past that. I have managed to die numerous times in a row on Level 1 though. Because I’m awesome.

2-) Easy-level Sudoku puzzles. I have one on my iGoogle and a booklet of them that I was given me that I amuse myself with in Banking class to keep myself from falling asleep. It’s actually pretty fun and definitely a better option than forcing myself to listen to someone reading off PowerPoint slides.

Breakin’ Out the Party Hats

Wow.

This blog is three years old today.

Happy Anniversary, Hala’s little spot on the ‘Net! (I’d call it Grins and Clockwork, but it wasn’t born with that name. My blog’s original name, which started on LiveJournal, was Obscurity in the Land of Moonlight)

Still kind of sucks that I decided to create this thing on September 11, but hey. Lots of people have it for a b’day and it wouldn’t be fair to make a damper out of it all the time I guess.

Just ‘Cause…

I don’t know why some quiz about how many countries you can name in five minutes is on a dating site. I wish I could even remember how I found it, but I definitely wasn’t lookin’ on the Internet for love, that’s for sure.

Listmania!

I’ve left this un-updated for a shameful amount of time.

Since I’m a bit sleepy and will have to doze off soon, I decided to make an entry in list form:

  • Lana came back to Qatar on the 11th. We’ve been celebrating since then—-WOOT!!!!!
  • Last Friday I watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with the sisters. It was very good.
  • On Tuesday I watched Harry Potter again with friends. It was still very good. I maintain that the ending could have been epically better. Still, it wasn’t too shabby.
  • I had my very first sarook today. Sarook being a shawarma sandwich that is freaking huge. I ate it all. It was very satisfying. Could’ve used a lot of garlic though. Chicken and garlic go so amazingly well together. Something shawarma sellers should keep in mind.
  • Yesterday my sisters and I engaged in making a masterpiece. This being a home movie consisting of Madi and I in an overly dramatic music video—the song being Incomplete by the Backstreet Boys. It was hilariously fun. Lana was the cameraperson and director. They are currently editing it so that it may adequately blast people’s minds. And, no, I’m absolutely, positively NOT gonna show it to anyone reading this. Or not reading this.
  • My room is cold and thus is giving me permanently cold fingers.
  • I don’t know how long I’m gonna leave the blog hanging, but consider this a warning that my updates may be few and far in between. Not that more than maybe three people even read this, but still, I like to make things official.
  • ‘TIL NEXT TIME!!!

On a Random Side Note:

There is absolutely nothing in the world right now that gives me greater joy than walking into my room in the evening and flipping the light switch and watching my room brighten with the sheer awesome electrical glow.

The lighting in my room’s been driving me slightly insane recently ’cause two of my bulbs burned out leaving my room in a dim, half-dead gloom. For some reason, it puts a damper on my mood and makes reading (which I do a LOT) very annoying. Yesterday I had all my bulbs (even the ones that were still functional) replaced and it’s been so bright it makes me want to dance. WOOT!

Beware the Milky Pirate

What I like about Oliver (the super-fluffy family cat) is that he’s not much of a bottomless pit. By that I mean that you could have a whole table of food in front of him and he won’t be falling all over himself to jump up and sniff and nibble. He only goes nuts for smoked turkey—-and cat treats. Other than that, he’s not too piggish when it comes to food.

However, he seems to have a thing for soy milk. Every time I take the carton out of the fridge to pour on top of my cereal, he gives me the, “I WANT!!!!” look. I mean it’s soy milk dude, I doubt you’d appreciate it. I don’t even think he’s even had any before, so why he turns on the Begging Stare whenever I take it out of the fridge is beyond my understanding.

Maybe I should give him a sample sometime…who knows, maybe he has refined taste in beverages.

Faceful of Spatula

Well, how is everyone today?

I’m all right. I was supposed to have a gathering today at the clubhouse with the Army, but that didn’t pan out. I’m not mad or anything—-it was due to circumstances beyond people’s control. Ah well, it’s vacation, so there are plenty of days to postpone it. I only wanted it to happen today because Faisal’s leaving tomorrow and he wanted to have a get-together before then. So it’s mostly him I feel a bit bad for.

Anyways, I dunno what I’m gonna do today, but I hope to at least be somewhat productive. (HAH! Hala productive. Sure).

I wanted to say something profound. But nothing comes to mind—-so I’ll profound you all later when I get inspired enough, hehe.

Hoppin’ Birdie…

A LIST:

  1. MOM AND MADI ARE COMING TOMORROW!!!!!!!
  2. I’m really rather hungry. I could use a Snickers bar.
  3. Did I mention my mom and sister are coming tomorrow?
  4. I also start my work term (FINALLY!) in about 12.5 hours
  5. I have funny people in my class
  6. Damn I’m hungry
  7. Video anyone?

Poemetry

Hey Lana—-remember this?

The folks who live in Backward Town
Are inside-out and upside-down
They wear their hats inside their heads
And go to sleep beneath their beds
They only eat the apple peeling
And take their walks across the ceiling

I don’t even know who wrote that, but it’s been stuck in my head recently. So I thought I’d post it for y’all to see. It was in one of my textbooks, possibly my science textbook, back when I was in the 3rd grade. And I still know it!

Tickin’ Tockin’

It’s 4:32 in the morning.

What the hell am I still doing up?
