I GET KNOCKED DOWN!

Greetings y’all.

I’ve got work to do people.

Work. Essays and projects and PowerPoint slides and stuff like that.

Not much left of school either. This isn’t good.

On a brighter note, I’ve only got one final to worry about. On a slightly less positive note, it’s a final in a subject I’m doing quite so-so in because it’s one of those courses that involves numbers. J’aime les numeros, tu sais?

SO MANY FINAL ASSIGNMENTS! Bloody hell.

Anyways. I’ll stop ranting. I’ve got nothing to rant about, considering what Lana’s going through. I just feel like venting a bit especially because procrastination is attacking me pretty ferociously at the moment.

Beverly Hills…That’s Where I Want to BE!

I’m so glad this week is over…it’s been one of those long (not to mention stressful) weeks that seem to stretch out for a couple of months instead of the required, and expected, seven days.

I still have stuff I need to do, but I’m seriously happy that the weekend is here. I woke up at around 8:45 and have been lounging around in my room. I have some stuff I’m planning out for today though. Like get started on stuff I have to do for Swain’s class. The lucky thing is that yesterday he let Sarah (my partner) and I go to the library. We always seem to get way more done in the library than we do in his class. His class is like kryptonite to our brains. They just shut down. I think it’s his monotone voice and the fact that it probably causes him great pain to genuinely smile.

I’m also planning on doing some much-needed shopping for things I’m missing. Mainly school stuff—-like, oh, a binder that wouldn’t fall apart (literally) after only one semester. Being in the business program means you get a lot of PowerPoint slides and notes…which basically means my binder is consistently overstuffed. Then it just disintegrates into oblivion.

In other news:

There was a job that a lot of my friends applied to earlier this week that was scheduled for yesterday and today. They are having a drag racing competition in the Industrial Area and they need twenty people to act as marshals. Several of my non-Arab friends applied but apparently they only wanted Arabs. This was not written in the job ad, so I feel really bad that they had to go all the way to the Industrial Area to sign up for the job only to not get picked based on their nationalities. A lot of them were really excited about it too, because they would get QR 800 (approximately $220.00) for two days of work—-the timing being from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm.

In any case, they are still going to get together to watch the races today. I’m not planning on joining them though because I’ve got other things I need to take care of before next week rolls around. (That and racing isn’t really something I’m all that interested in watching. Plus I don’t like the area it’s being held in.)

I did have a good time with them yesterday—-after college four of us went out to eat at a Thai restaurant. The food was really good—-though mine was definitely a lot spicier than I’d anticipated. Hehe, people can usually tell I’m not used to eating things that set your mouth aflame.  Not to say that took away from the enjoyment, but I definitely was happy that my bottle of water was always on hand.

Anyways, I’m going to flutter away and do something a little more productive. Like eat something and get started on typing up the marketing mix audit thingie for the class that has my Favorite! Teacher! EVAR!

Tararam – Mahmoud El Eseelly

This is the friggin’ cutest song I’ve heard in a while! I wish I could find the English translation of it, but Google isn’t being too big of a help right now. Still, it’s super catchy. Enjoy!

MBS

I’m in class. Swain’s class. Or as I like to call him, Bruce Sssssswain.

‘Cause I think it’s funny. Sue me.

Frankly I hate this class with the fire of about 2,354 suns.

Maybe not hate. Hate is a pretty strong word, and though I do use it fairly liberally, I don’t mean it in just that way.

I seriously can’t stand this class though. There are certain classes that one goes through during their university/college careers that are always approached with a nearly tangible dread. This is definitely one of them. The guy used to be on crutches because of a knee surgery but he’s all better now.

And a miniscule (and quite evil) part of me has a fiery desire to kick that particular knee to see if he’d have a relapse.

Don’t worry, I won’t though. I’m not a horrible person. Just fed up. This instructor does NOT agree to ANYTHING. We’re working on a project and no matter what we do he has some sort of remark against it. ALWAYS.

It makes me want to throw something at him. Or just walk out of class and not come back. He’s so damned annoying.

And his haircut’s uneven. You will realize how bored I have to be to notice subtleties in someone’s haircut.

Can’t wait for this semester to be over!
