Man I haven’t updated in a while.
Which is no good, I don’t want this blog to wither away and die, so I’m going to update now even though I don’t really know what to say.
Halloween’s coming up real soon, and I think I have an idea in mind for a costume. I’m going to go for a Bride of Frankenstein look. I think it’d be pretty cool. I really wish you (Lana and Mada that is) were here…we’d have such a costume-making blast! But make sure you take loads of pics of your Canadian Halloween! I’ll be sure to do the same here.
I don’t have a lot of news…the second issue of The Scribe is well on its way to be published…I still have to do some last-minute editing and get the graphic designers to stick everything together. It’s going to come out later in November than previously planned, but we’re still getting this project on its feet and there’s a lot of trial-and-error going on. But, hey, at least we’re doing something! Plus my team’s really starting to come together, which is a good sign.
Oh, and elections are coming up this week…well, really, they already came up. We’re voting in a new president and vice-president! The cool thing is that Lina is running for president. It took a stint of convincing from us, and what sealed the deal was when our current president said that women weren’t meant to be leaders. So now she wants to rub it in his face if she wins. Needless to say, I voted for her, haha! An Iranian dude named Milo is running for VP, and since he’s also a friend (more like a friend of a friend but I digress), and I like him more than his way-too-serious rival, he got my vote too.
Oh, there is a Qatari man who is also running for president and it probably won’t come as any kind of surprise that he would win, even though he didn’t give a speech (he never showed up) or did any real campaigning besides the flyers posted around the college. I do hope that Lina wins though, I think we could actually do something cool if she does. Though Karim, another Iranian guy, is also not a bad choice–he was an SRC member last year too and he’s a good and likable guy. Only he’s busy a ton of the time and we don’t know how much time he can really devote to his presidential duties. Anyways, time’ll tell what’ll happen. Hopefully, by November 3rd we’ll know who has been granted the right to be our leader.
(Though most of the people voting won’t have even SEEN the candidates or the speeches because, besides my sizable group of friends, only FIVE or SIX other people showed up to the speeches. So I’m sure there’s gonna be a hell of a lot of bias when they read the names. There’s one girl, one Iranian guy and one Qatari guy. You tell me how the vote’s gonna turn out…bet it’s gonna be damned disappointing).
Anyways, that’s enough of an update for now. I’m sleepy as hell and my bed beckons.
