Hope everyone had/has a great one! (I put in both tenses because it’s already evening on this side of the globe, but on the other side, the day’s just begun. So…yeah.)
It was a funny day today. No one wore any costumes or anything to school–myself included. College here doesn’t seem to accomodate Halloween parties or costume competitions or anything…I guess they don’t want to give the students and excuse to go nuts, hehe.
A couple of students I know bought a can of that temporary hairspray stuff–in gold. One of them had Sarah (whom I mentioned before) spray all his hair gold. Too bad the effect wasn’t quite what the poor guy wanted, hahaha!! His hair is black, so it just looked like an ill-advised bleaching experience gone terribly wrong :-P. But it was for Halloween, I mean–you’re not supposed to look pretty, right? That just defeats the whole purpose of the day. Too bad he washed his hair out not long after. That spray stinks to high heaven too, so all that endurance getting your whole head covered with the stuff–only to wash it out later. Ah well, it is, after all, his hair.
Another friend of mine, Jayson, also had his turn with the golden-hairspray-experience. He got the remainder of what was left in the can. Sarah (oh-so-kindly I might add
) sprayed an “L” on his head. (Loser–geddit?! She’s truly the epitome of kindness) and then, underneath it, sprayed a smiley face on the back of his head. I gotta admit, it looked pretty good. She even took his glasses and put them on the back of his head so it looked like a bespectacled golden smiley on a background of black hair. I took pictures with my cell phone and kicked myself for not bringing my digital camera with me. D’oh!
I’ll also add that I had a makeup experience too–though not really fitting for Halloween. As in, it wasn’t scary. It was a bit out of the blue too, heh. See, I had finished my last class and was hanging out with Sarah and some other people. At one point, Sarah put her hands on my face, kinda squeezed my cheeks then looked at her friend Nisreen and asked, “Nisreen, did you bring some makeup with you?” When she was given an affirmative answer, she grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me to the student council lounge where she sat me down and proceeded to apply mascara and this glittery blush-ish stuff on me. Apparently, she’s been wanting to do that for quite some time. (I’m not really a makeup person. I’ve come to school with makeup on before–but usually not more than some foundation, blush and eyeliner. But most of the time, I’m au naturel. I just don’t really have the patience unless there’s something I want to cover up.) She applied what seemed–to me–to be a good amount of mascara along with the blush-like stuff. (See how good I am with the names of makeup products?) Usually, I don’t put much, if at all. I gotta say, she did a good job. This also happened to be the first time a person who is not a makeup artist or my mom/sister gave me an impromptu makeup session. It was quite interesting–and entertaining!–to say the least.
And…that’s my story of the day.
