Hallo M’dears…

In twenty-six minutes I’ll officially be twenty-one years old.

Twenty…One.

I feel rather ancient. Is that normal?

Anyways, I hadn’t updated in a while and I thought this would be as good a time as any to do so. For some odd reason I seem to do a lot of my best posting when I’m dying to go to bed. That almost definitely means that when university starts again I’ll be diving head-first into my old procrastinating habits. At least I’ll always have Lebne to share the horrors of that with. And Gen, of course. Right, you guys? Riiiight????  Please don’t abandon me on this issue!!! We put-offers must stick together!

*Coughs* Whatever…

I had a good day today. I went around The Mall with my family and picked out my birthday clothes. I’ve got other gifts coming but I like to pick out new clothes for my birthday. I got five new shirts and a new pair of sneakers. I confess myself delighted, and I don’t even like shopping!

I also want a new digital camera. I saw a couple of cameras today but didn’t pick one yet…I’m very choosy when it comes to this stuff, seeing how I hate rushing when it comes to buying electronics. I’ll make a decision sooner or later…I hope!

Oh, you know what? TP, the tortoiseshell with several names, is now–I think–owned by someone in our compound! See, I hadn’t seen her in a long time and I was terrified she’d gotten run over or something. But today my sisters and I saw her coming out of a neighbor’s house! And she’s gotten fatter and…get this…has a BABY! A black-and-white spotted kitten! I think that our neighbor has actually adopted them or something ’cause I hadn’t seen TP out in the street and she looks so healthy! I hope they keep her! She really is the cutest thing…

The clock strikes 2:00 a.m. and that means I am OFFICIALLY twenty-one! Do I feel different? Nope. Moving on.

I should be going to bed, as I am quite tired. But at least now I know that I’ve blown a bit of life back into this journal.

*Sighs Contentedly*

Finished my final exam.

No more school.

Summer’s about to start. Lana, we’re waitin’ for ya!!!

Greetings From the School Computer…Again.

I left the house in a state of frustration today.

I have two assignments, one due yesterday and one due today. I had typed up both of them using Microsoft Word 2007. Not everyone, obviously, has Word ‘07. Most still use Word ‘03, and that’s really all fine and dandy, as I’m not here to show off my upgrading prowess. (Not that I’m the one who upgraded the thing in the first place anyways.)

But I digress…

It seems that a document done on Word ‘07 will not open on Word ‘03 because there is a compatibility problem. Since my printer at home doesn’t work, on Monday I came to school with my assignment saved to a disk ’cause I wanted to print it out there. I thought it would be no problem but–whaddaya know–it was! The program told me that I had to download a compatibility feature in order to be able to open the document. That obviously didn’t work since it’s a school computer and in order to download anything on it, you have to be a computer administrator, which, unfortunately, I’m not.

So I went home and tried to e-mail it to my teacher. He has Word ‘03 too, and he couldn’t upgrade ’cause he was at the college and if he had to do it so did everyone else!

So after a long and frustrating talk with a member of my group (this assignment was a group report thing) I finally, in a state of frustration, e-mailed him the report and told him to fix it in any way he could as I’d done all I could think of and nothing seemed to help. (I’d even saved it as a document that would be fully compatible with Word ‘03 but my group-mate told me he opened it and the words and writing were all spaced out and weird-looking.) I’d planned to save the thing in the Word ‘03 compatible form and send it to my teacher again, only my e-mail account told me that my pasword expired and I couldn’t change it from home!

I even tried to fix the printer but I needed its software CD and, even though I turned every CD-holding place within my reach upside-down I couldn’t find it.

ARGH!

Anyways, today I saved my final assignment along with the group report to a disk and sent it to my father’s office to have it printed there. It came back with a horrendous looking layout–each page had only three very big lines of text on it. I wanted to scream.

I concluded that when it comes to the last two assignments that I’d ever have to hand in this term, Murphy decided to take a dump on me. (Check out Murphy’s Laws if you have no idea what I’m talking about.)

Well, the good news is that my group-mate managed to print out the group report here in school and it looks very good, so I don’t have to turn in the hard-to-read hard copy that was made at my dad’s office. I guess I’ll have to turn in my other assignment…as weird-looking as it is. I’ll just explain what happened…

Guh…
