Cocktail Juice and Squashed Tomatoes…

I would like to start off by saying The Illusionist is an awesome movie and that anyone reading this journal is hereby obligated to go watch it. Shirk this duty, and you will suffer my wrath. You have been warned.

I’m so happy that I got a 96% on my first assignment in the course I’m taking. It’s worth a measly five percent but I admit I had no idea what I was talking about, and it’s so good to see that rewarded. :-P

I think I’ll be going for my driving test soon…I’m getting the hang of driving in most places, even roundabouts. I still have yet to learn to parallel park and stuff like that…and with a manual that might be a bit on the tricky side. The school has a special area they teach you to park in. Hopefully I won’t make an idiot out of myself, hehe.

You know, my teacher has a weird sense of humor. At one point I was driving and, out of habit, I said, “I turn left here, no?” (Even if I know where I’m supposed to go, I sometimes ask just to get a confirmation.) Well, Mohamad smiled at me and said, “No, turn right,” just as I was turning left. Half-confused, I glanced over at the right in time to see a very rocky and sloping valley. Let’s just say there’s no way anyone with an ounce of sanity would turn right on this street.

To be honest, I’ve never heard Mohamad try to be funny before this point, so when he saw the half-panicked glimmer of confusion on my face, he broke into this huge grin and, cracking up, said, “Yeah, let’s kill ourselves! Haha!” before breaking into a bigger fit of giggles.

Hehehe, I guess he just likes to confuse his students just to liven up the monotonous lessons. Can’t say it didn’t work!

He’s also quite inquisitive. When yet another idiot cat was crossing the road too slowly I yelled frustratedly, “MOVE IT YOU STUPID CAT!!” and blasted the horn a couple of times. He laughed at my reaction, and then asked me what I said. (I’d said it in English, which he doesn’t understand very well.) So, I translated it. He was highly amused.

He found it very interesting that I have an affinity for cats, especially because this is the second time driving with him that I slowed down for one. (I was with Jaber during the episode with the very stubborn-and-quite-frankly-suicidal felines.) When I told him I had a cat at home and two others in Canada, he was very surprised. I guess he’s not much of a cat person, hehe.

Go to I-Am-Bored and put “Interview with Bobo the Kitty” in the search function. If you are a cat person you would laugh your friggin’ head off. I love that clip! Also check out “When Cats Attack”. You will be horrified. Or will you?
