You’ll never guess what happened yesterday. It was so ironic, coincidental and just plain friggin’ cool.
You know what? “Cool” is an overused adjective…as a wordsmith of sorts I should be properly ashamed of using it. However, I’m going to ignore that minute henpecking part of me that is busy berating my brain for defiling its space by harboring such a cheap, colorless and disgustingly overrated word. I will repent by studying the thesaurus after I finish this entry. However, for now, I can only describe this occasion as REALLY COOL! Just stupendously and happy-dance-inpiringly cool.
Madi (my little sister, for those who don’t know) was just talking about trying to buy tickets (cost: 500 QR each) to watch the opening ceremony of the Asian Olympic Games. We were all thinking it over when my dad walked in from a week-long trip to Saudi Arabia with two–count ‘em–two free V.I.P tickets to the opening ceremony on December 1st!! They seem like pretty darn good seats too! It was just so ironic, for my dad to bring up the tickets when we were talking about it not ten minutes before he even stepped foot into the house! This is a really grand opportunity…Arab countries so rarely get to host such big events–let alone the Olympics! (Albeit it’s strictly for Asia-dwellers). And we have the chance to see it LIVE! Madi and I are most probably going to be the ones going. Neither my parents nor my grandparents feel up to sitting in a crowded and loud arena for upwards of four or five hours (if not more). Still, I’m so freaking excited!
YEAH, YEAH!
